We are looking for passionate and driven Support Worker (Service Delivery Team Members) based in Bowen to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in supporting our clients. Due to identified client need we are particularly seeking applications from experienced support workers looking to join our team. This is a demanding and rewarding position for individuals who is committed to helping others and making a positive impact on their lives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A qualification in human services or a related field is highly desirable. A minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or a related field is required, or a willingness to work towards completing this qualification within the current calendar year.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with legislation regulating professional practice.
  • Experience in providing assessment, intervention, and case management for people with disabilities or older adults is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, organise, and complete tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion regarding individual privacy.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in documenting and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence and reliable, registered and insured motor vehicle.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Act 2013 and related requirements.
  • A current Working with Children Check and a Working with People with Disability Check as required by the Disability Services Act 2006 and NDIS Act 2013.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by people with disabilities or older adults in home or community settings.
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Support Worker, you will work closely with clients and other staff members to provide the highest quality of care and support. You will assist clients in achieving their health, well-being, and lifestyle goals while ensuring their dignity and cultural safety. You will be responsible for delivering services in line with best practice standards, supporting the ongoing empowerment of clients, and contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-quality health, well-being, and lifestyle assistance, support, and services to clients, ensuring services are delivered in a professional, confidential, and culturally safe manner.
  • Empower clients to engage in their communities, including culturally diverse communities and LGBTIQ+ communities.
  • Facilitate the use of clients’ lifestyle support equipment and assist with their daily needs.
  • Work closely with other Team Members to ensure high-quality service provision.
  • Comply with safe work practices and maintain client safety and well-being at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including online app-based client notes and timesheets.
  • Contribute to the organisation’s administrative and marketing activities and events.
  • Undertake other roles and responsibilities to meet business and service delivery requirements.
