We are looking for experienced Disability and Community Support Workers to join our team. In this casual role, you will work with a flexible availability including morning and afternoon shifts.
The primary role of a Disability and Community Support Worker is to provide assistance to individuals with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities. Key duties and responsibilities include:
· Supporting clients with personal care (such as bathing, brushing teeth and daily living tasks)
· Supporting in community participation (including transport assistance and social activities engagement)
· Medication administration
· Supporting with domestic tasks
· Behaviour observation and support
· Assessing client to determine continuing needs
· Assistance in building client self-image and self-confidence
· Assessing clients’ needs and planning, developing and implementing support programs/care plans
· Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients with disabilities
· Supporting families and providing care for children with disabilities
· Assisting submissions for raising funds and resources, and reporting to related agencies when relevant
· Facilitating community development initiatives to address issues and needs of people with disabilities when relevant
· Undertaking other duties commensurate with the position as reasonably directed by Service Coordinator and/or Manager.
