We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Day Services Practitioner will:

  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant’s abilities, strengths and circumstances.
  • Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
  • Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
  • Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible, you must have or willing to complete (please upload to your application if you have the below documents):

  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
Responsibilities

As a Disability Day Service Practitioner, you will but not limited to;

  • Support clients in adventure-based learning, empowering them to push beyond their boundaries.
  • Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support.
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
  • Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4.
  • Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing
