About the Opportunity

This is a permanent part-time mobile role with a minimum of 15 hours per week, supporting NDIS participants in their homes across the Inner Sydney and surrounding suburbs.

  • SCHADS Level 2 base rate from $34.58 per hour plus salary packaging benefits, penalty rates, and superannuation
  • Salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 per year (pay less tax)
  • Must be flexible to work across the week including weekends and holidays from 9am to 5pm depending on the business requirements

Our service operates 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm e.g. 3 to 8 hours per shift
Uniting is currently looking for flexible and dedicated Disability Support Workers to engage with participants living with various physical and mental disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across their homes in Western, Northwestern, Southwestern and Inner Sydney. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience or qualifications in disability or aged care
  • Experience supporting people with complex behaviours and/or mental health needs using a person-centred approach
  • Good and effective English communication skills
  • Ability to do accurate records, reports, and case notes through a mobile phone
  • Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, Disability Service Standards and the NDIS
  • Possession of a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Workers Check
  • NSW Driver’s license (can be on Green P Plates), access to a reliable car and Comprehensive car insurance are required for the role.
  • First Aid Certificate is also a necessary qualification.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Aiding with daily life activities and assistance for community support such as attending a doctor’s appointment and shopping.
  • Supporting individuals with their educational and work-related endeavours.
  • Facilitating access to various community, social, and recreational activities.
  • Assisting with transportation to enable access to daily activities and engagements.
