We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers for permanent and casual positions to provide drop in and SIL support to our participants in Western Sydney. We're looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Disability Support Worker to join our passionate team, providing psychosocial support to people living with psychosocial disability and/or complex needs.

About the Role:

You will be providing drop in and SIL support. We are recruiting for a number of roles. Supports are centred around maintaining safety, comfort, and routine while offering reassurance and assistance as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drop in support and/or SIL support
  • Supporting the participant in achieving their goals
  • Domestic assistance to support the household environment
  • Personal care support required
  • Responding to overnight activity and providing consistent reassurance
  • Supporting the participant in a calm, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner
  • Building a positive, professional relationship with the family

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in working with teenagers/young adults
  • Experience in supporting individuals living with a psychosocial disability, mental health, behavioural, or complex needs is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in supporting individuals living with high communication support needs and behaviour intervention needs is required.
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of people living with psychosocial disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with participants, their families, and other professionals.
  • A person-centered approach to care, ensuring each participant's needs, preferences, and goals are at the heart of everything you do.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport and trust with participants.
  • Current Driver's License and reliable, insured vehicle for transporting participants.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and manual handling techniques.
  • Current NDIS worker screening clearance is mandatory for this role.
  • Valid work visa or appropriate work eligibility in Australia is essential.
