Location Elanora Heights, NSW, Australia Role Purpose The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities. You will play a vital role in empowering clients to live as independently as possible, by helping them to achieve their goals and supporting their day-to-day wellbeing, dignity and quality of life. About the Clients This group SIL home in Elanora Heights is home to 4 clients. Our clients can have a range of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy and other similar conditions and can have different level of medical needs and behaviours. These clients are very activity-oriented and love swimming at the local beach pool and CPA's hydrotherapy facilities! Role Overview This 20-hour per week, permanent part-time role is based out of one of CPA's SIL houses in Elanora Heights. As a Disability Support Worker within a CPA SIL home, your role is focused on providing support to clients in a domestic setting (in the home). You will make a meaningful difference through supporting clients with daily living needs such as cooking and mealtimes and helping with cleaning & general household tasks. You will also provide personal care to clients in a respectful and dignified manner, administer medication, and support clients to move around the house through manual handling and the use of specialised equipment such as hoists. You'll also be asked to document and monitor client wellbeing, and collaborate effectively with other CPA staff to maintain a supportive team environment. As a DSW in a CPA SIL Home, you will work across a number of different shift times dependent on your availability: Early mornings: 6am - 9am Day shifts: 9am - 3pm Afternoons/evenings: 3pm - 6pm/7pm/8pm/9pm Awake overnights: 10pm-6am What Success Looks Like Clients feel safe, respected and empowered Care is delivered consistently in a person-centred way Documentation is accurate and completed on time You contribute positively to team culture You demonstrate CPA's values: Passionate, Respectful, Ethical, Curious and Courageous Essential Criteria Commitment to person-centred care Current NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2) Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role Willingness to work a rotating roster NDIS Worker Screening Check Working With Children Check First Aid & CPR Where required, CPA will support or reimburse relevant compliance certifications.
