Disability Support Worker | Bundaberg

CSBS is seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join a committed 24/7 support team in Bundaberg. In this rewarding role, you will provide person-centred support to an individual living with complex physical disabilities and health support needs, helping them maintain independence, achieve personal goals, and enjoy meaningful participation in everyday life.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will support daily routines while promoting choice, dignity, inclusion, and quality of life. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, supporting community participation, and making a positive difference through consistent, high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and daily living support in a respectful and person-centred manner.
  • Assist with manual handling, transfers, mobility support, and the safe use of prescribed equipment, including wheelchairs and transfer aids.
  • Support medication administration in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with dysphagia and mealtime management, following prescribed swallowing and dietary recommendations.
  • Support diabetes monitoring and general health management requirements.
  • Provide continence support and maintain dignity and privacy at all times.
  • Encourage participation in daily routines, personal care activities, household tasks, and decision-making wherever possible.
  • Support access to the community, medical appointments, therapy sessions, social activities, and recreational outings.
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and incident reporting as required.
  • Work collaboratively with family members, allied health professionals, and the broader support team to achieve positive outcomes.

About the Person You Will Support

The individual enjoys community outings, scenic drives, visiting cafés, spending time with family, and engaging in conversations about farming, animals, machinery, transport, and life experiences. They value familiar routines, meaningful connections, having their choices respected, and being supported to remain as independent as possible.

Successful support workers will be patient, respectful, engaging, and committed to building positive and trusting relationships while supporting the person to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Shift Availability

This position forms part of a 24/7 support roster and may include:

  • Afternoon shifts
  • Passive sleepover shifts
  • Active overnight shifts

Availability across a variety of shift types will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Open Queensland Driver Licence
  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster
