The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing person-centred support to individuals living with intellectual disabilities and complex mental health needs, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The role focuses on promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, community participation, and quality of life while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.


The successful candidate will demonstrate empathy, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain healthy professional boundaries.

  • Understanding of person-centred support practices.
  • Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and their impact on daily living.
  • Understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder and trauma-informed support practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong listening and observation skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage challenging situations appropriately.
  • Patience, resilience, and emotional maturity.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience in the Disability Sector, a current Driver's License, NDIS Screening check, First Aid and CPR certificates, and excellent communication skills.
