About the role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll provide individualised support to people with disabilities across a range of settings, including supported independent living, in-home care and community participation based in Bayswater 6053 & South Lakes 6164. You’ll help our clients build independence, reach their goals and maintain their wellbeing in everyday life.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accompany clients during daily routines and community outings, including appointments, shopping, and social activities.
  • Assist with mobility, including the use of mobility aids, transfers, and exercises to maintain physical well-being.
  • Support personal hygiene needs including showering, grooming, toileting, and dressing with respect and sensitivity.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, taking into account dietary needs and client preferences.
  • Perform light household tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, dishwashing, and general tidying to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote well-being.
  • Assist with planning and participating in recreational and social activities tailored to the client’s interests.
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping and prescription collection as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of care activities, incidents, and communication in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Liaise with families, support workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and holistic care.
  • May reside with the client on a live-in basis, as required.

What we are looking for:

  • AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience in absence of formal qualification
  • 1-year full time work experience
  • Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community services.
  • Current NDIS Screening Check
  • Current CPR
  • Working with Children Check
  • Valid Australian drivers license
  • Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
