Disability Support Worker & Allied Health Assistant| Above Award Pay | Flexible Hours


Location: Perth Metro


Employment Type: Casual (with prospect to transition to Perm Part-Time)


Classifications: SCHADS Award (Home Care Stream).


Successful applicants will be employed as Home Care Employees Level 1, 2 or 3, depending on their qualifications, skills, experience and the duties they perform. Be U Pty Ltd pays above-award hourly rates based on the role and responsibilities.


Above Award Pay & Benefits


$40.18 per hour + 12% super + weekend penalty rates. Full-time equivalent earnings exceed $83,500 per annum based on a 40-hour week (actual earnings depend on hours worked).

This is a Hybrid Role


This is a hybrid position combining the responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker and Therapy Assistant. All successful applicants will perform both disability support and therapy assistant duties as required by each client's individual support plan. While some clients may primarily require disability support and others may require a greater focus on therapy assistance, all team members are expected to be willing and capable of performing both aspects of the role.


You do not need formal Therapy Assistant qualifications to apply. We provide on-the-job training and support to help you succeed. However, applicants with qualifications or current studies in allied health disciplines will be highly regarded.


Your Role


As a Disability Support Worker & Therapy Assistant, you'll provide person-centred support that combines disability support and therapy assistance to help clients achieve greater independence,

Typical duties include:


- Personal care, Medication prompting


- Community access and social support


- Domestic assistance, Meal preparation, Shopping and errands


- Transport to appointments and activities


- Capacity building, Independent living skills


- Implementing prescribed exercise programs


- Stretching and strengthening routines


- Functional rehabilitation activities, Mobility and balance training


- Therapy equipment setup and use, Supporting clients to achieve therapy goals


- Therapeutic massage or soft tissue techniques (where suitably qualified)


- Monitoring and documenting client progress,
