About the role


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at Keylinks Community Services Pty Ltd in Brisbane and Ipswich, Queensland. This is a casual position, offering the flexibility to work around your schedule. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with various disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

As directed by the Client Service Manager, and in-line with the client’s NDIS goals, duties may include:

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in social and recreational activities
  • Documenting client progress and maintaining detailed records of service provision
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of clients
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Employment support, such as assisting with private or public transport to and from employment, and providing help with job duties
  • Supporting lifestyle needs, including assisting with making and attending medical appointments
  • Other duties as required

What We're Looking For:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or a related qualification in the disability or community services sector (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, ideally in a support worker role (not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those you support
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A current Queensland driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Willingness to apply for or already hold a current blue card and NDIS Worker Screening
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
