SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to work autonomously supporting clients one on one in the community
  • An unrestricted Western Australia driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
    Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred support to male and female clients living with disability in Gosnells and surrounding suburbs. Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short 3-6 hour split shifts.
Shifts fall between Monday to Friday primarily between 8am to 8:30pm. Wednesday and occasional weekend availability required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sports fan with a love for shopping? You will have plenty to chat about!
  • Independently support clients who display complex behaviours requiring high-level daily care
  • Assistance with basic personal care including teeth brushing and shaving
  • Facilitate inclusive community-based activities to promote social engagement
  • Provide transportation to appointments or community access
  • Domestic assistance including cleaning and meal preparation
  • Empower clients to find their strengths and promote independence
  • Respond to changing routines and support needs in volatile environments
