Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will be liaising with a wide range of multidisciplinary health professionals including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists. Working as part of this team, you will support our participants in their activities of daily living, community access, therapy sessions and general leisure activities.

  • You will provide attendant care and support worker services to individuals often with an acquired brain injury, spinal injury or physical or mental disability
  • This role involves travelling between participants homes and assisting them with daily living and lifestyle requirements by providing person-centred care and support
  • Shifts are customised to each participants needs, NDIS goals, interests, and hobbies

DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Community and Social Access, including support with transport and attendance to leisure or personal appointments.
  • Goal support, including assistance with achieving personal goals and recording progress notes.
  • Mentoring, including life skills, education and general problem solving
  • Personal care support work, including assistance with showering, shaving, toileting, manual handling, and medication.
  • General support work, including general house cleaning, meal preparation, light maintenance, assistance with calls, emails, reading and filing.
