Support Worker (Female) - Drouin, VIC

Tarra Care Disability Services is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support for an NDIS participant located in Drouin, Victoria.

About the Role

We are looking for a support worker with extensive experience supporting individuals with complex mental health presentations. The successful applicant will provide person-centred support while maintaining professional boundaries, promoting participant wellbeing, safety, and independence.

This role requires a calm, confident, and trauma-informed approach, with the ability to manage challenging situations professionally and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care and self-care activities
• Supporting daily living tasks and household routines
• Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a safe home environment
• Providing transport and support to medical, allied health, and other appointments
• Community access and social participation support
• Emotional support and positive engagement
• Following support plans and risk management strategies
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns appropriately
• Promoting participant choice, control, and independence

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• National Police Check
• Victorian Driver's Licence
• Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance
• Reliable and registered vehicle
• Working with Children Check (preferred)
• Australian working rights

Essential Experience

• Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex mental health conditions
• Experience managing challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Understanding of participant safeguarding and duty of care requirements

Desired Skills

• Trauma-informed support experience
• Mental Health First Aid (desirable)
• Experience working within the NDIS sector
• Knowledge of risk management and behaviour support strategies
• Confidence supporting participants in the community and home environment
