Full job description

Location: Greater Adelaide region and Adelaide Hills

Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week

Salary: $79,423 per year plus superannuation, with applicable award penalties, overtime and allowances paid separately.

Ember Support Services is seeking a caring, reliable Disability Support Worker to provide direct support to people with disability across Greater Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills.

This is an ongoing, permanent full-time position supporting participants with personal care, daily living and community access.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting personal hygiene, dressing and other personal care needs.

- Assisting with meal preparation, shopping and everyday household routines.

- Accompanying participants to appointments and community activities.

- Encouraging independence, choice and progress towards participants’ goals.

- Following individual support plans and safe work practices.

- Maintaining accurate shift notes and reporting incidents or concerns.

- Communicating respectfully with participants, families and the Ember team. We’re looking for someone with:

- Relevant experience providing direct disability support, including personal care and community access.

- A respectful, person-centred approach.

- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

- The ability to work independently within support plans and seek guidance when needed.

- Reliability and availability to work a full-time roster across our service locations.

A Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification is desirable. Applicants with relevant experience who do not hold a formal qualification are welcome to apply.

Successful applicants must hold or obtain the screening clearances and training required for their duties before commencing relevant work.

Employment conditions are governed by the applicable SCHADS Award classification and the National Employment Standards.
