POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Disability Support Worker with proven experience supporting individuals exhibiting complex and sometimes aggressive behaviours. The ideal candidate will champion a person-centered, and strengths-based approach, prioritizing safety, dignity, and empowerment. You will deliver high-quality supports that foster independence, build trust, and align with best practices in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and NDIS guidelines. Your primary goal is to help participants live fulfilling, safe, and inclusive lives, while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary support team.

  • Deliver tailored day-to-day support grounded in strengths-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused approaches that promote choice, autonomy, and dignity.

  • Collaborate with behaviour support practitioners to implement and monitor Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) using evidence-based strategies.

  • Apply PBS strategies: teach alternative skills, modify environments, reinforce positive behaviours, and address triggers proactively.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of participant progress, behavioural incidents, and intervention outcomes to support transparency and continuity of care

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent) – required
  • A compassionate, respectful, and reliable approach
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
  • * Must be male support worker
  • Experience with behaviour managment is highly desired
