About the role
Helping Hearts Disability Support is seeking reliable, compassionate and professional Disability Support Workers to provide personalised one-on-one support to NDIS participants.
Key responsibilities
- Picking up and dropping off participants from their homes
- Providing safe and reliable transport to and from activities, appointments and community outings
- Supporting participants to participate in recreational, sporting, social and community activities
- Providing one-on-one assistance throughout the day
- Supporting participants with daily routines and independence
- Supporting safe and enjoyable meals, including assisting with meal preparation and eating where required
- Promoting participant choice, independence, dignity and inclusion
- Maintaining a safe, positive and respectful environment
- Completing basic shift notes and reporting any relevant incidents or concerns
- Following participant support plans and Helping Hearts Disability Support procedures
About you
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Compassionate, patient and respectful
- Professional and able to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Confident working independently with participants
- Able to communicate effectively with participants, families and the Helping Hearts team
- Safety-conscious, particularly when transporting and supporting participants in the community
- Committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check, where applicable
- Current First Aid & CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module — completed
- Infection Prevention and Control Awareness Module — completed
- Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals — completed
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Reliable access to a suitable vehicle where transport is required
