JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include personal care, patient monitoring, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for residents. Ideal candidates will have experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, and autism.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:

• First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly valued.
• Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is a plus.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and senior care practices is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment are crucial for success in this role. • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide personal care while maintaining the dignity and respect of each individual.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Support clients in social activities and community engagement to enhance their quality of life.
• Maintain cleanliness in living areas and assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Use appropriate techniques for patient lifting and transferring, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and support.
