Location: Bracken Ridge & North Brisbane, QLD

Employment Type: Casual

Pay: $38.00 – $95.00 per hour, depending on shift penalties, experience and applicable rates

Imaginary Minds Disability Support Services is seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across North Brisbane.

We are a specialist disability provider with a strong focus on supporting people living with neurological, physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, including participants with complex and high physical support needs.

We are looking for genuine all-round support workers who are comfortable working across a varied roster.

Shifts may include:

  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon and evening shifts
  • Active overnight shifts
  • Weekend shifts
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • Community access
  • In-home and personal supports

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Disability Support Workers, AINs, nursing students, mental health workers, aged care workers and people with healthcare backgrounds looking for consistent and rewarding work.

About the Role

As a Support Worker with Imaginary Minds, you will provide individualised, person-centred support based on each participant's needs, preferences and goals.

Depending on the participant and shift, duties may include:

  • Personal care and activities of daily living
  • Supporting mobility and transfers
  • Community access and social participation
  • Meal preparation and household assistance
  • Medication support in accordance with training and organisational procedures
  • Supporting participants with neurological and physical disabilities
  • Supporting independence, choice and decision-making
  • Following individual support plans and risk-management strategies
  • Completing accurate case notes and shift documentation
  • Communicating effectively with participants, families and other team members
  • Responding appropriately to changes in a participant's presentation
  • Working independently during active overnight shifts where required
  • Maintaining a safe, respectful and professional support environment
