About the Role
We are looking for a caring and patient Disability Support Worker to provide daily care and support for a 10-year-old child with severe autism. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life in a safe, supportive home environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Help with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, toileting)
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding
  • Support routines, structured play, and calming strategies during sensory distress
  • Use visual aids and non-verbal communication
  • Keep the child’s environment safe and organized
  • Light housekeeping related to the child (preparing meal, tidying play areas)
  • Follow care plans provided by family or professionals

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in disability support, caregiving, or childcare (autism experience is a strong asset)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Compassion, patience, and problem-solving skills
  • First Aid/CPR is an asset

Work Schedule & Pay

  • Monday to Friday – 36-45 hours/week
  • $21.00/hour, paid bi-weekly
  • 10 paid vacation days per year OR 4% vacation pay
  • Public holidays as per Alberta standards
  • If live-in: furnished private bedroom, Wi-Fi, laundry, and meals at no cost
