Description

About the role

Kel & Co. Care is seeking a reliable, proactive and capable Disability Support Worker to provide support across multiple clients.

This role would suit someone who has a mature and professional approach, takes initiative and is confident assisting with the day-to-day running of a household. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people maintain their independence and participate in their community.

Regular shifts include:

  • 12-hour shift each Tuesday
  • 12-hour shift each Wednesday
  • 6-hour shift each Saturday
  • Potential additional shorter shifts throughout the week

As this position involves supporting multiple clients, flexibility and the ability to adapt your approach to each person’s individual needs are important.

About the role

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing standby assistance during transfers—no manual handling is required, but you must be available to provide support if needed
  • Assisting with daily living and domestic activities
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of a household
  • General housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organised home
  • Meal planning, preparation and basic cooking
  • Supporting clients with community access, appointments and activities
  • Completing clear, accurate and legible support notes
  • Recognising what needs to be done and confidently taking appropriate initiative
  • Providing respectful, person-centred support that promotes choice and independence

About you

The ideal person will:

  • Have a genuine interest in gardening, including indoor plants and terrariums
  • Enjoy cooking and spending time in the kitchen
  • Have basic cooking skills and confidence preparing everyday meals
  • Have neat, legible handwriting and be able to complete accurate documentation
  • Be dependable, organised and punctual
  • Have a mature, calm and professional approach
  • Be observant and able to take initiative without needing constant direction
  • Be comfortable working independently across different client environments
  • Respect each client’s home, routines, preferences and independence

Mandatory requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Blue Card
  • 100 points of identification
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Reliable, fully insured vehicle

If you are a dependable and thoughtful support worker who enjoys household activities, cooking, gardening and helping clients live as independently as possible, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply through SEEK with your current résumé and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience, availability and why you believe you would be a good fit for this role.
