POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Disability Support Worker at Luminous Care Services, you will be instrumental in supporting individuals with disabilities in Broadmeadows and surrounding areas. Your role will be focused on enabling clients to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life through tailored care and support.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field (or working toward completion)
  • First Aid & CPR Certification (current)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (if applicable)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (preferred)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (as per current health requirements)

Responsibilities
  • Personal Care Support: Assist with daily activities such as showering, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Community Participation: Support clients to engage in social, recreational, and community activities.
  • Health Monitoring: Administer medication (if required), monitor health conditions, and accompany clients to medical appointments.
  • Domestic Assistance: Help with household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and grocery shopping.
  • Skill Development: Encourage clients in building skills to promote independence in everyday activities.
  • Behavioral Support: Follow behavior support plans and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of daily activities, progress, incidents, and goals as per NDIS and organizational standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with families, healthcare providers, and other team members to update care plans and provide holistic support.
