Are you a reliable and experienced support worker who enjoys helping participants live their best life? If you are a male support worker in the Ambarvale area and you love gaming - then this is the shift for you!
Providing support to a 31 year old male with cerebral palsy these shifts will initially see you providing support for 4 - 6 hours per day 3 - 4 times per week. As rapport is built, shifts will extend up to 10 hours per day, 7 days per week.
You will have a minimum of 12 months experience, with experience providing support to clients with cerebral palsy. You will also have experience with stand and pivot transfers as the client is wheelchair bound and requires assistance to use the urinal and toilet transfers. At this stage, personal care is not required however may when shift times are extended.
Support will include light meal preparation, stand and pivot transfers, repositioning in bed as required, community access via foot, or by driving the client’s personal van only. You must have a drivers licence and be comfortable driving the client’s van for these shifts.
A genuine interest in gaming is essential for these shifts! The client would like a support worker to engage in gaming and streaming with him. You must also be a great communicator, with fluent English as the client struggles to understand support workers with accents.
