Description

When you join MercyCare, you become part of something bigger than a job. You join a community of people who show up for Western Australians at the moments that matter most - from early learning and disability support, to family, community and aged care services. We live by our values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice, excellence and courage, and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.

About the role

We are seeking carers for two clients, one male and one female with complex physical and behavioural needs. Being fit and young at heart and prior experience are must haves in these rewarding positions. Italian speaking would be a bonus but isn’t required.

Based across Port Kennedy and Rockingham, Position 1 works Mon, Tues, Fri and Sat, and Position 2 Wed to Sun. Both roles include hours between 7AM and 9:30PM (exact shifts to be confirmed).

About you

You will have an abundance of patience, be empathetic to others, understand the challenges and frustrations faced day to day, and bring resilience that mirrors that of the people you support.

You will be someone who thrives in challenging environments that require calm confidence, and who is excited by the opportunity to learn the unique needs of your clients and tailor your approach with empathy and care. Your key experience will include:

  • Prior experience supporting complex physical and behavioural needs
  • Certificate III in a relevant practice is preferred but not required
  • Strong manual handling skills and your own physical capacity to provide support
  • Great communication, deescalation and relationship skills, ideally speaking some Italian
  • Drivers Licence
  • Access to a suitable vehicle
  • First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)

About the benefits

In addition to knowing you’ve genuinely helped someone, you'll join an inclusive, diverse, West Australian team committed to making a meaningful impact in our local community. Our MercyCare Promise is focused on our people being connected and empowered.

You’ll also enjoy access to:
