The Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential daily living assistance and capacity-building support to participants. Your role is pivotal in helping individuals achieve their personal goals while maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging home environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care: Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene, always prioritising the participant's dignity and privacy.

Domestic Support: Perform household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to ensure a safe and healthy living space.

Nutrition & Health: Prepare meals according to specific dietary plans and provide manual eating assistance if required. Administer prescribed medications accurately and monitor for side effects.

Medical Coordination: Accompany participants to medical appointments and facilitate clear communication with healthcare professionals.

Capacity Building: Teach and encourage independence in daily skills such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning to foster maximum autonomy.

Social Inclusion: Support participants in developing social skills and integrating into the community to enhance their quality of life.

Goal Attainment: Actively work towards milestones outlined in Individual Support Plans and NDIS plans.

Behaviour Support: Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans with empathy, respect, and consistency.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate shift notes, collect data, manage risks, and adhere strictly to the NDIS Code of Conduct and confidentiality protocols.


What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must hold the following certifications and meet these requirements:


Mandatory Qualifications & Checks:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or equivalent (or a demonstrated willingness to obtain).

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Valid National Police Check.

- Working with Children Check (WWC).

- Current First Aid and CPR certification.

- Valid Australian Driver's License (essential for transporting participants).

- Full Right to Work in Australia.

  • - Completion of mandatory NDIS training.
