Origin Support Services Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to join our growing team in Brisbane, QLD.

At Origin Support Services, we provide person-centred, individualised support to people living with disabilities. Our services include:

  • Community Access
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL)

This opportunity is for a casual position supporting a participant in a 1:1 Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment. The successful candidate must have good availability, including active night shifts, weekends, and flexible hours, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position for the right person.

Experience is preferred but not essential. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training along with access to a range of Origin Support Services resources and professional development opportunities.

About the Opportunity

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to a participant in a 1:1 SIL setting, assisting them both at home and within the community while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and control.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment.
  • Assisting with daily living activities and personal support.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with the participant.
  • Supporting attendance at appointments and community outings.
  • Assisting with community access, including shopping and recreational activities.
  • Completing household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised home environment.
  • Completing accurate shift notes and incident reports.
  • Supporting the participant to achieve the goals outlined in their NDIS plan.
  • Providing support during active night shifts, remaining awake and responsive throughout the shift to ensure participant safety and wellbeing.
