SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with people with disability
• Passionate about providing active support
• Previous experience in providing personal Care
• Manual handling and mobility support experience
• Understanding of behaviours of concern
• An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will provide support 5 people with disability living in shared housing in Chifley who have a love for music (think Australian Rock, Missy Higgins, Cold Chisel and John Farnham)
The successful candidate will have varied experience in supporting people with vision impairment, behaviours of concern, manual handling, mobility support, personal care and modified diets.

We are seeking applications from candidates for permanent part time positions only. To be considered, you must be able to commit to the set roster below:

• 43 hours per fortnight

• • Week 1: Wed 2:30-8pm and Thu 4:30-11:30pm
• Week 2: Tue 2:30-8pm, Fri 6am – 3pm, Sat 9am – 4pm and Sun 11am – 8pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
• Maintain thorough record keeping
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice and control
