Full job description

Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association is currently looking for a support worker who is passionate about working with people with disabilities. They must be person-centered, reliable and have excellent communication skills.

This role is for an accommodation support worker. They must be available to work sleep over shifts (from 4:30pm to 8:30am), and weekends on a rolling roster. The roster requires the support worker to be available both days and nights on the weekend.

Casual Positions leading to permanent part-time positions.

Phoenix Lifestyle Support Association Inc. is a not-for-profit disability support service provider located in the Redlands Brisbane. We are a small organisation that provides both community participation and supported independent living for adults living with disabilities.

Duties

• Support our participants to live as independently as possible by assisting with activities of daily living.
• Provide direct support to participants with complex and high-intensity needs
• Work with participants with positive behaviour support plans.
• Engage with participants to develop skills within their own homes.
• The role requires the support worker to work closely with families in some instances.

Skills

• Support workers must be confident with close personal care.
• Support workers must be confident with assisting with medication.
• Support workers must be confident with managing mealtime preparation and modified diets
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Demonstrated competency with documentation and reporting
• Ability to work within a multicultural workforce.

Requirements

• Cert III in Disability or relevant qualification and/or experience or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid certificate and current CPR
• Open Drivers licence with own vehicle
• Smart mobile phone
• Current disability worker screening clearance card.
• Australian or NZ citizenship or the capacity to permanently work in Australia.
• Must be available to work nights/weekends/days.
