About the role

FIND SUPPORT is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disability.

I am seeking expressions of interest for a specific male participant (aged 30) in a power wheelchair, who lives independently and requires assistance with personal care including showering, social services and attending his university program. Variable shifts required usually 4 hours for morning personal care, 5-hour social outings and 2 hour evening services. Experience with personal care is required for the morning shifts. You must have great communication and be able to understand people with impaired speech. If you are strong, this is a bonus as it makes him feel safe. (Physical lifting is not involved).

We do have other participants who need support in different locations.

Other locations we may have work:

• Camperdown
• Monterey
• Western Sydney

What you'll be doing

• Assistance with personal care including showering
• Assisting with domestic activities such as cleaning, tidying, making the bed, loads of washing
• Companionship and support on social outings and community activities to promote social engagement and wellbeing
• Maintaining a safe and clean living environment
• Communicating effectively with the participant and other members of the care team
• Respecting and upholding the rights, privacy and dignity of participants
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required
• Adhering to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures including safeguarding requirements

What we're looking for

• A compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable individuals with empathy and respect
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a flexible manner
• Physical capability to assist participants safely
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important in a casual role where consistency is valued
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Previous experience in aged care, disability support or community services is highly desirable
