Job Title: Support Worker – Child with Autism (Mooroolbark, VIC)

About the Role

Serena Care is looking for a warm, supportive, and reliable Support Worker to assist a child with Autism and delayed speech. The child thrives with a gentle, patient, and fun approach. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, engaging in play-based activities, and encouraging communication and independence.

Shifts Available

  • Wed to Friday Evenings – 3 - 5 hours
  • Saturdays Morning/Evening - 3 - 5 hours
  • Additional hours may be available with other clients once staff settles in

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and support in a safe, caring environment
  • Engage in play and fun activities to encourage social skills and confidence
  • Support with communication and learning (delayed speech)
  • Build a trusting, supportive relationship with the child and family
  • Follow NDIS goals and family routines

About You

  • Fun, supportive, caring, and gentle approach
  • Experience with children, Autism, or developmental delays (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to build rapport and adapt to the child’s needs
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and patient
  • Mandatory checks: Working With Children Check, Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour
