About the role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated disability support worker to join our team at The Trustee for CARE AT NGURRA UNIT TRUST. This is a fulltime position based in Lightsview , SA 5085. As a disability support worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live with dignity, independence and quality of life. Your work will directly impact the wellbeing and social participation of the people we serve, making this a truly rewarding career opportunity within the aged and disability support sector.

Key responsibilities

Provide personalised support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including personal care, mobility support and household tasks

Foster independence and encourage service users to participate in meaningful activities and community engagement

Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, treating them with respect and dignity at all times

Assist with meal preparation, nutrition support and monitoring of dietary requirements

Support service users in accessing community facilities, attending appointments and engaging in social activities

Maintain accurate and timely records of support provided, including service user progress and any concerns

Communicate effectively with team members, family members and other professionals involved in service user care

Follow health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures and manual handling techniques

Promote a safe and inclusive environment that respects the rights and preferences of service users

Contribute to the continuous improvement of services through feedback and suggestions

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
