SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to assist a male participant in his 40’s, located in Griffin, QLD. The participant has recently sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and will require ongoing support as he transitions back into the home environment.

Support is required Monday to Saturday, approximately 8 hours per day. Tentative shift times are:

  • 7:00am to 11:00am
  • 1:00pm to 5:00pm

The participant is a father of two young children and requires support with school drop-offs and pick-ups, as well as attending allied health appointments. He has a great sense of humour and is working towards goals focused on building strength, increasing community engagement, and regaining independence.
Part-time and full-time hours are available for suitable applicants, with flexibility to accommodate your availability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Prompting and supervision across daily routines
  • Assistance with domestic tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and general cleaning
  • Support with community access and rehabilitation exercises
  • Assistance with shopping, budgeting, and structured activities
  • Supporting school drop-offs and pick-ups for his two young children Accompanying the participant to allied health appointments
  • Helping establish structure, encourage independence, and promote safe engagement in day-to-day activities
