Description

Support Workers | Parmelia location (plus additional vacancies across all Perth)

We’re looking for an experienced Support Worker to join a team in Parmelia who can build trust, provide consistent support and make a real difference in the life of a participant with complex support needs.

If you’re patient, reliable and confident supporting someone at home and in the community, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

  • Build a respectful, positive relationship with the participant
  • Support community access, social connection and personal goals
  • Complete specialist training funded by Unique Support, which may include MAYBO physical intervention, safer de-escalation and PDA-informed support
  • Follow behaviour support strategies and the participant’s support plans
  • Assist with personal care, household tasks or medication where required and within your training
  • Keep clear records and work closely with the support team

Why Unique Support?

We’re a growing not-for-profit supporting participants across Perth, from Yanchep to Byford. We combine the close-knit feel of a family-run organisation with the training, support and opportunities of a larger provider.

We’ll invest in your development and cover the cost of specialist training relevant to the role, which may include MAYBO physical intervention, safer de-escalation, PDA-informed support, medication, First Aid and CPR.

You’ll also have access to salary packaging, EAP support and career progression opportunities. Sponsorship may be available for eligible employees.

You’ll bring

  • Experience as a Support Worker, ideally supporting people with complex needs
  • Qualifications highly regarded but not essential
  • A calm, patient and dependable approach
  • A genuine interest in supporting people to live more independently
  • A keen desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Very strong communication skills, including in writing
  • A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Flexibility, good availability and a willingness to complete mandatory training

Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans or a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support is highly regarded.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a short one-way video interview.
