Disability Support Worker – Casual

Swan Hill, VIC | Approx. 6 regular hours to commence + additional relief opportunities

FIG Supports is looking for a qualified Disability Support Worker to join our team in Swan Hill.

We're looking for the right person, not simply someone to fill a shift.

This vacancy is specifically for someone with broad, flexible availability who is looking to build their regular working hours with FIG Supports.

We are not currently seeking applicants who are only available for a small number of hours around an existing support-work roster.

About the position

This position will initially offer approximately 6 regular client hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours through staff leave and unplanned absences.

As suitable new clients come to FIG Supports, there is potential for the successful applicant's regular roster to grow.

However, we want to be completely upfront: we cannot guarantee how quickly additional regular hours will become available. Sometimes our client base grows quickly; at other times it may take several months for the right client match to become available.

For this reason, this role will best suit someone whose circumstances genuinely work with a smaller starting roster, while maintaining availability to take on additional hours as opportunities arise.

If you require 20–30 guaranteed hours per week immediately, this particular position is unlikely to suit your circumstances.

What you'll be doing

FIG Supports provides personalised 1:1 disability support. Depending on client needs, your work may include:

• Personal care and in-home support
• Community access and social participation
• Transport and appointments
• Assistance with daily living
• Household assistance
• Supporting clients with routines, independence and individual goals
• Covering additional shifts during staff leave or unplanned absences

Our clients have different personalities, routines and support needs. Some shifts are active and community-based, while others are slower-paced and require someone who understands the value of being a calm, reliable and respectful presence.

About you

We're looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable and genuinely enjoys supporting people.

Essential:

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability and/or Ageing), or another relevant recognised qualification
• Willingness and ability to provide personal care
• Ability to work independently in clients' homes and in the community
• Genuine availability across multiple days of the week
• Strong communication skills and professional boundaries
• Reliability and an understanding of how important consistency is to the people we support
• Ability to meet all relevant worker screening and employment requirements

Relevant disability support experience is highly regarded, but the right attitude, judgement and client fit are equally important to us.

Evidence of qualifications and relevant employment requirements will be requested as part of our recruitment process.

Pay: $45.28 – $48.00 per hour
