Disability Support Worker – Gold Coast, QLD

Participant: Female NDIS Participant

Vitium Cura is seeking a compassionate, open-minded and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a female NDIS participant on the Gold Coast who is living with schizophrenia.

We welcome applications from both female and male support workers. The successful applicant must have previous experience supporting participants with schizophrenia, psychosocial disability, or similar complex mental health support needs and be confident providing calm, consistent and person-centred support.

We are looking for someone who is respectful, non-judgemental and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and who respects the participant's identity, choices, privacy and independence.

A Filipino support worker would be welcomed due to the participant's preference and potential cultural connection; however, this is not an essential requirement. All suitably qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Experience supporting a participant with schizophrenia is highly important
• Previous NDIS/disability or psychosocial support experience
• Understanding of mental health and person-centred support
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Blue Card/Working with Children clearance, where required
• Current First Aid & CPR
• National Police Check
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport preferred
• Calm, patient and able to respond appropriately to challenging situations
• Strong communication and professional boundaries
• Respectful, inclusive and non-judgemental
• Reliable and able to provide consistent support
• ASAP availability highly regarded
