    Position Summary:
    CPT Group is seeking a Disbursement Assistant to work collaboratively with the Case Management team and provide quality assurance of settlement and tax calculations, prepare the settlement payment distributions along with tax reporting procedures, and maintain and properly reconcile settlement accounts. This position will entail accounting and bookkeeping concepts along with the applications of mathematical formulas and calculations. Job functions:

  • Strong understanding of settlement calculations outlined in a Settlement Agreement/Court Order.
  • Provide quality assurance of settlement calculations and disbursement procedures.
  • Follow Disbursement Department protocol and procedures.
  • Clearly communicate and assist internal departments with respect to disbursement and tax processes.
  • Proper time management in order to comply with court-ordered deadlines and tax authorities.
  • Keep tasks organized.
  • Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the company as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Reports to: Supervising Disbursement Administrator
FLSA Designation: Nonexempt

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: BA/BS preferred - in related field
Experience: 1-2 years in a related field, or skill sets
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; strong critical thinking and analysis; strong math skills; detail-oriented; organized; articulate; customer service-oriented; takes direction well, strong work ethic
Technical Skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access
