Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Under the supervision and direction of the DOS the duties and responsibilities are: I. Assure that the program meets Title 19 ICF/MR Standards for people enrolled in that level of services. II. Assure that the program meets standards set forth by the Council on Quality and leadership for people with disabilities. III. Supervise Staff 1. Oversite of the DSPs, Coordinators, and Residential Supervisors 2. Supervise medication administration and treatments. 3. Oversite of meal service. 4. Interview, select and schedule staff. 5. Assure that staff are trained in agency policies and procedures. 6. Assure adequate staffing patterns to meet the needs of people enrolled in services. 7. Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to staff to improve and enhance job performance. IV. Program Management 1. Assure that supplies and equipment as needed and appropriate are available to program staff and people served. 2. Assure that people served are administered prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with agency policy and procedure. 3. Assure that agency health and safety procedures are in place, that staff are trained in their implementation and that needed supplies are maintained. V. Habilitation Services 1. Serve as case manager/program coordinator. 2. Assess needs of each person. Assist people enrolled to assess their needs for training and services. 3. Monitor implementation of services at least once per month and modify plans as needed. 4. Assure that records reflect services provided to each person, assessment and evaluation results, pertinent legal documents, basic data about the person, health history, results of plan implementation, and pertinent correspondence. 5. Coordinate services internal and external to the agency. Refer people to specialists as needed and appropriate. 6. Assure that people have prescribed adaptive equipment that is kept in working condition. 7. Provide tours and information to people and their families seeking services. VI. Other duties as needed and appropriate Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in special education, Social Work, or closely related field 2. At least one year of experience in supervision 3. At least one year of experience in program planning and implementation REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of training and teaching methods and techniques for people with developmental disabilities 1. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 2. Knowledge and ability in the methods and techniques of supervision. 3. Leadership skills in planning, organizing, delegating and motivating others 4. Excellent organizational skills 5. Ability to support people to assess their needs for supports, training, and services 6. Ability to assess needs and skills of people enrolled and develop a plan of services with each person’s team 7. Ability to work with families and guardians of people enrolled
