Description The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, ensuring the efficient operation of dishwashing equipment, and supporting the overall dining experience for our residents. Schedule: Part-Time, Weekdays, Weekends, 8 hour shifts Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Operation dishwashing equipment, to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment. Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization, hygiene, and accessibility for kitchen staff. Remove trash and recyclables from kitchen areas, emptying garbage cans, compost bins, and recycling bins as needed, and disposing of waste according to facility procedures. Assist with general cleaning and sanitation tasks in the kitchen including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down countertops and surfaces, and sanitizing equipment and workstations. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of dishwashing areas, including dish racks, sinks, drains, and storage shelves, to meet health department regulations and facility standards. Assist kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients, as directed by supervisors. Adhere to food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handwashing, glove use, and temperature monitoring, to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen, including proper handling of knives, hot surfaces, and chemical cleaning agents. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies, verifying quantities and quality of items, and stocking shelves and storage areas as directed. Collaborate with dietary staff, including Cooks, Dietary Aides, and Supervisors to support kitchen operations, meet production schedules, and maintain cleanliness standards. Perform all other duties as requested by management. Requirements Job Qualifications: Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and kitchen hygiene standards. Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed. Attention to detail and cleanliness, with the ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Committed to providing high-quality dining experiences and excellent customer service to residents and their families. Physical Requirements: Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with kitchen equipment. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist. Stamina to stand for extended periods while operating dishwashing equipment and performing cleaning tasks in the kitchen. Capability to lift and carry heavy racks of dishes, trays, and pots, weighing up to 20lbs, as needed during dishwashing and storage activities. Proficiency in performing tasks that require manual dexterity, such as loading and unloading dishes, stacking plates, and handling utensils. Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen, including proper use of protective equipment and safe handling of cleaning agents. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, infections, waste, blood and body fluid, diseases, and conditions prevalent at the time. Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
Responsibilities
