DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher/Porter to join our commissary kitchen. The ideal candidate will ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, helping to maintain a smooth workflow by handling dishwashing duties and supporting kitchen operations. This is a key role in keeping our kitchen running efficiently, cleanly, and safely.

REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting (preferred but not required).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods.
Reliable, with a positive attitude and willingness to support team needs.
Basic knowledge of sanitation standards (training will be provided).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks that require physical strength.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, trays, baking sheets, and cookware following proper sanitation standards.
Clean and maintain sinks, countertops, dish machines, and cleaning areas.
Monitor dishwashing supplies and inform supervisors when supplies are low.
Sweep and mop floors throughout the kitchen and storage areas regularly to ensure a clean working environment.
Remove and dispose of trash and recyclables, ensuring proper waste management.
Assist in unloading and organizing deliveries, including stocking pantry items, ingredients, and cleaning supplies.
Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, such as wiping down surfaces, cleaning appliances, and ensuring all storage areas are tidy and organized.
Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks, such as setting up stations, organizing equipment, and ensuring tools are readily available.
Help maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including maintaining walkways and keeping equipment areas free of clutter.
Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to maintain an organized, efficient, and positive working environment.
Support the team during busy shifts by ensuring a fast turnaround of clean dishes and tools.
