POSITION TITLE: Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant (FULL-TIME)
LOCATION: Village Grocer (Markham, Ontario)
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Executive Chef, Kitchen / Prepared Foods

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in a restaurant or food production environment
• Basic knowledge/care of industrial chemicals used in the dishwashing process
• Fluent in speaking and reading English.
• Available to work both day and evening shifts as well as one (1) day on the weekend
• Can work extended hours on occasion (i.e. Thanksgiving/Christmas)
• Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene & appearance.
• Adheres to company dress code (uniform, hat/hairnet)
• Maintains a clean and safe workspace environment
• Endure medium to high levels of physical exertion (standing, bending, lifting, etc.)
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Observes company code of conduct, policies and store rules
• Food safety and handling knowledge

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee dishwashing duties and efficiently operate dishwasher equipment/chemicals
• Wash commercial pots, pans, utensils, etc. using automated dishwasher or by hand
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in cooking and storage areas
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated recycling & pickup areas
• Perform other duties as assigned
