POSITION SUMMARY The Dishwasher/Kitchen Porter at Villa Roma Resort is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, dinnerware, glassware, and equipment while ensuring sanitation standards are met.  In addition, individuals in this position act as support staff to the kitchen department in general. This position is essential to the efficient operation of the kitchen and contributes significantly to the overall dining experience of our guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and kitchen equipment according to health department standards • Operate and maintain dish washing equipment according to specifications • Sort, stack, and store all cleaned items in appropriate storage areas • Remove garbage and waste to designated disposal areas • Keep dish station and kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitized • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed • Report any broken or damaged equipment to supervisor • Monitor and maintain adequate levels of cleaning supplies • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling cleaning chemicals • Assist other kitchen staff during peak periods as directed • Maintain clean floor areas to prevent slip hazards • Perform closing duties including cleaning of dish machine and dish areas QUALIFICATIONS • Previous dishwashing experience preferred but not required • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and sanitation standards • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Reliability and strong work ethic • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to work as part of a team • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds • High school diploma or equivalent preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT • Kitchen environment with exposure to wet conditions, heat, and cleaning chemicals • Will be required to work in areas that are humid, noisy, and in close quarters with others • Must be able to lift, reach, bend, and stand for extended periods of time BENEFITS (After qualifying period) • Health insurance (for full-time employees) • Paid vacation (based on eligibility) • 401k retirement plan • Meal during shift • Employee discounts at resort facilities • Opportunity for growth and advancement Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
