POSITION SUMMARY

Dishwashers will wash all plates, pots, and utensils ensuring they are clean to standard in a timely manner. Make sure the trash cans are empty and trash area meets standards of cleaning. Dishwashers also are tasked with other detailed cleaning and food prep projects.

  • Prior experience in related food service positions is required
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including using appropriate judgment to complete tasks
  • Ability to work in high-stress environment

Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Wash all wares including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dish machines.
  • Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
  • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Receive food and dishwashing supplies, equipment, and utensils and store them in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Clean and sanitize workstation area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed such as straining soups and supporting prep to prepare items.
  • Promptly inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items
  • Stir and strain soups and sauces.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while handling equipment, performing tasks, and work safely in the kitchen area/coolers.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists and assist others in opening and closing the kitchen.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure support to guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Performing other work-related duties as needed and as assigned – Including working the line, doing prep, and executing quality control
