Description Summary The primary function of the Dishwasher is to collaborate with the other positions within the kitchen to ensure that everything used for food preparation and serving including the areas in which food is prepared and served are cleaned and sanitized appropriately and up to the standards set by the Health Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Wash all: glassware, pots, pans, utensils and kitchenware either by hand or using the dishwasher. Set up sanitation stations throughout the kitchen. Collect and dispose of all garbage from containers into the compactor. Replace garbage bags as appropriate. Wash garbage containers. Sweep and mop kitchen floors, walls, fixtures and equipment as deemed necessary. Clean all carts, rolling racks, warmers, and refrigerators. Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety and sanitation. Clean all stainless-steel tables and counter tops. Clean grill and griddle, along with disposal of any and all grease. Clean and change out oil from fryers as deemed necessary. Clean ovens, steamers and steam tables. Clean and maintain drains in the kitchen. Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas. Replenish paper towels and soap for hand washing stations throughout the kitchen. Assist with stock and deliveries. May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed. Keep track of both the chemical and dry good inventories. Attend all mandatory meetings and hotel functions. Report any and all wear and tear of furniture and/or equipment, as well as and safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work cooperatively with others. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Dishwasher Sponges, brushes, and cleaning tools Mops and brooms Requirements EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 6 months - 1-year experience in a restaurant environment or similar experience. SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence. Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced. Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff. Detail-oriented and thorough. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods walking or standing. Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently. Must frequently immerse hands in water. TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to multi-task. Requires the ability to understand and implement directions. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a hot and damp environment. Varied shift schedules from 3-10 hours. Overtime may be required. The ability to work in close proximity with others comfortably, while multitasking in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. Hospitality environment requires polite, professional conduct and communication at all times.
Responsibilities
The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchenware, equipment, and food preparation areas according to Health Department standards. Additional duties include waste disposal, floor maintenance, and assisting with stock deliveries.
