DISHWASHER / PREP COOK

Camp Verde General Store and Restaurant in Camp Verde, Texas, is a beautiful general store known for its rich history and charming location in the Texas Hill Country. Our team enjoys a motivating, friendly and energetic environment. We are currently seeking a full-time Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our team. REQUIREMENTS

  • Food Handler Certification
  • Previous dishwasher experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and stand for long periods of time
  • Committed to reliable attendance
  • Capacity to take directions and work with others
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting
  • Can safely lift 25 lbs. while maneuvering throughout the work area
  • Available to work a variety of hours including holidays and weekends

Responsibilities

DISHWASHING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scrape, rinse, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dish washing equipment
  • Properly transport, organize, and store clean kitchenware in designated areas
  • Set up and break down the dish washing station at the start and end of shifts
  • Clean and sanitize small wares, kitchen equipment, and work surfaces
  • Sweep and mop floors, remove trash and recyclables, and ensure proper waste disposal
  • Perform assigned deep-cleaning tasks and routine maintenance of dishwashing equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized dishwashing and storage area at all times
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols to prevent cross-contamination
  • Execute opening and closing procedures as assigned
  • Support other team members and kitchen operations as needed during busy periods

PREP COOK RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring
  • Assist with basic food preparation and station setup
  • Follow standardized recipes and portioning guidelines to maintain consistency
  • Label, date, and stock ingredients properly in coolers, freezers, and dry storage
  • Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely and effectively, including slicers, mixers, and food processors
  • Monitor prep area inventory and notify supervisors of shortages or spoilage
  • Keep prep stations clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift
  • Dispose of food waste properly and follow restaurant recycling/composting guidelines
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clutter-free work environment
  • Adhere to all company policies, food safety guidelines, and local/state/federal regulations
  • Protect company equipment and assets through responsible and careful handling
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and assist with other duties as assigned
