JOB SUMMARY:

The Dishwasher is responsible for but not limited to the washing of all kitchen equipment and catering equipment at our venues and organizing them properly in their respective locations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • WHMIS training an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the everyday washing of all pots, pans, dinnerware, and equipment.
  • Assures all dinnerware and equipment is washed using proper techniques and using chemicals under proper WHIMS safety standards.
  • Monitors quality of dishes being washed, as well as the overall operation of the dishwashing machine and reports any problems with machinery to the Sous Chefs.
  • Notifies Receiving when chemicals are low and require ordering.
  • Ability to maintain and organize dish areas for maximum wash cycles, while working quickly and efficiently.
  • Pre-soaks silverware for at least 1 hour before washing with dish machine.
  • Ensure dish machine water is changed before washing glassware, cutlery and plates, etc and changing dish water every two hours to ensure dishes are thoroughly cleaned.
  • Cleans kitchen equipment to include ovens, kettles, tilt skillet, hood vents and stove top burners in a safe manner as directed by Kitchen Sous Chefs.
  • Required to sweep and mop coolers and dry storage area as directed by Kitchen Sous Chefs.
  • Physical standards include ability to lift 50 pounds, carry 25 pounds, and stand for 6-8 hours in a day.
  • Must be able to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record.

Maintains cleanliness of alleyway to include:

  • Washing out all trash, compost and recycling receptacles as needed.
  • Empty any trash, recycling and compost from receptacles as needed.
  • Sweeping, washing and shoveling the alleyway as needed, and ensuring the alleyway is clear and safe.
  • Ability to assist in the kitchen when required or directed by Sous Chefs and Chef.
  • Closing dishwashers are responsible for washing floor mats and ensuring floors are clear so floors can properly be swept and mopped each night.
