Description Reports To: Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Kitchen Supervises: N/A SUMMARY Responsible for washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china equipment, flatware and glassware. HOURS/DAYS Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Washes all dishes in dishwashing machine or by hand. Washes/scrub pots and pans. Collects trash from kitchen areas; empties barrels, wash and re-lines with new bag. Sweeps and mops floor. Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas. Unloads and cleans dishwashing machine. Polish all silverware, platters and chafing dishes. Cleans all glassware. Washes and cleans receiving area and trash areas. Assists cook with food preparation. Assists with other duties as instructed by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef. Attends any food and beverage meetings. Project a friendly, helpful attitude to all members and guests of the club All other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have the ability to read, write and reason at the 8th grade level. Minimum one (1) year experience in kitchen preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to react to constant changing work pressure environment. Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times. Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations. Ability to communicate in English with management, co-workers and guests to their understanding. Must be a team player and service oriented. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical stamina is needed for lifting heavy pots and pans and standing for several hours at a time. Must be able to work long hours during season.
