Description Center Art LLC, managed by the Space Needle LLC, is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition on the Seattle Center grounds next to the Space Needle. GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: The steward is responsible for cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, prep, and storage areas. Constantly maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment. Must communicate closely with leads/supervisors regarding issues and concerns raised during shift. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and company requirements. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safety Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental/company policies and procedures. Meet with Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipate business levels, charges and other information pertinent to the job performance. Be informed of weekly schedule and be prompt for each shift. Stocking the hot line with adequate supply chinaware, plate covers and anything necessary to present food. Restocking kitchen and dishes for the next shift. Complete ware washing of all china, glassware, and silver pieces according to sanitation standards. Proper care and maintenance of all equipment in racking stacking, and storage to avoid breakage. Daily cleaning of floors, walls, stainless steel, dish machines and other kitchen equipment Pick up and disposal of trash, cardboard, in all food and beverage areas. Review status of work and follow up actions required with the Sous Chef before leaving. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Comprehend basic instructions given in English. Good communication and organization skills. Teamwork and detail oriented, works well with others. Able to lift 50 pounds, 10 pounds over head. Able to stand for entire shift with periodic breaks and fully extend arms over head. Able to perform basic mathematics.
