SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Licensed and experienced in driving a forklift
  • Able to work from complex instructions and procedures.
  • Able to co-ordinate work in a team environment under limited supervision.
  • Responsible for the quality of their own work.
  • Possesses sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency & certification in operating various loading equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Physical stamina

Key Physical Demands:

  • Individual lifting up to 20kg, with typical weights between 2kg and 10kg
  • Constant standing and walking and may squat to lift items. Use of pallet jack and moving trolleys requires push/pull physical demand.
  • May be required to work in cold environment of -4 degrees Celsius for short periods.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Collect items from storage and safely transport them to the dispatch bay.
  • Prepare air, sea and road transport freight by scanning, stacking and wrapping pallets and creating relevant consignment notes.
  • Utilise appropriate equipment to load and unload vehicles.
  • Maintain an inventory of all items entering or exiting the warehouse using the scanning system.
  • Identify any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
  • Ensure all the items are safely, securely packed, and labelled for transportation or shipping.
  • Contribute to the training of newly employed workers.
  • Scan labels to verify that products are dispatched to the correct destination.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external carriers to ensure timely freight deliveries.
