JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dispatch Coordinator to lead our logistics and transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods, optimizing shipping and receiving activities, and supervising a team of dispatch professionals. This role demands strong analytical abilities, hands-on experience with transportation management systems, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in dispatch or logistics management within the transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of freight types and transportation management software is essential.
  • Proven ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including professional phone etiquette, are required.
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving operations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with supply chain logistics and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate the dispatch of drayage, FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), and intermodal shipments, ensuring timely and efficient pickups and deliveries through platforms such as Loadlink and Expert Dispatch.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with drivers, carriers, and clients to provide timely updates, resolve delays, and ensure seamless transportation processes.
  • Optimize routing and load planning strategies to enhance operational efficiency, minimize transportation costs, and ensure compliance with legal weight, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical issues, including mechanical breakdowns, unexpected delays, and route disruptions, by working closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize service interruptions.
  • Accurately document all shipment activities, track delivery timelines, and monitor carrier performance in alignment with company standards and customer service expectations.
  • Enforce adherence to all relevant safety regulations and compliance standards while continuously evaluating performance metrics to drive operational improvements and meet organizational goals.
