DESCRIPTION
Fulger Transport Inc. is actively seeking to hire two Dispatch Supervisors to help oversee and develop our Dispatching Department. The two positions currently available are the Day Shift Dispatch Supervisor and the Evening Shift Dispatch Supervisor.
The ideal candidates would have dispatching experience within the Trucking Logistics Industry. These individuals would be autonomous self-starters with the ability to work independently as well as lead a team.
In order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate will need:
- Strong knowledge of the trucking industry.
- Ability to oversee multiple dispatchers at one time.
- Strong written & email communication.
- A intermediate level of computer literacy.
- Experience working with digital tracking systems and meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to work morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts as required.
The main tasks associated with this position include:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Dispatch Shift.
- Ensure customer expectations are communicated to all drivers.
- Monitor delivery activity to ensure productivity, update customers with ETA’s respond to tracing inquires.
- Planning and setting up the delivery activities (pickup/delivery numbers, appointment times), specifically around appointments and routing.
- Data entry for customer orders and dispatch updates.
- Must be able to continuously attend work within our digital workspace.
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach with the drivers and customers in all your interactions.
- Ensure driver hours are updated as required.
- Work to ensure dispatch is consistent, fair and reasonable in a team approach.
- Knowledge of North American Geography and Traffic.
- Periodic weekend required.
- Maintain emails internal and external that response and updates have been provided in a timely manner.
- Coordinates driver schedules (start time and logs hours) in order to accommodate customer requirements and business volumes.
- Ensures trucks are loaded with appropriate scheduled contents and gives the driver-related documentation/customer information/directions/special instructions.
- Update customers as required.
- Track shipments using GPS tracking systems.
- Input and update load information into TMS.
- Attend shifts in person at our Essex Head Office.
- Day Shift = 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday + 4 Hour Shift Every Other Saturday,
- Evening Shift = 3:30pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday + 4 Hour Shift Every Other Saturday
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 2-5 years of trucking dispatch experience.
Education: High School Diploma required.
